Rookie trotting fillies took the Georgian Downs stage for three harness racing divisions of the Prospect Series leg 2B on Tuesday (Jul. 19).

Stonebridge Fib (Sportswriter, Brett MacDonald) fought off Roulette Hanover (Stephen Byron) in a battle lasting from five-eighths to deep stretch for a 1:55.3 victory. Chakka (All Bets Off, Tyler Borth) held off Betterontheisland (Betterthancheddar, Samuel Fillion) for place; both passed the tired Roulette Hanover.

STONEBRIDGE FIB REPLAY

Stonebridge Fib was making her debut for owners Ecurie Richard Francis of Becancour, Gaston Bibeau of Sorel-Tracy, Guillaume Desrochers of Warwick, and Eric Bibeau of Ste-Victoire-De-Sorel, who bought her for $24,000 at the London Selected Sale. Richard Moreau trains the filly, the first foal from Well Said mare Stonebridge Rumor.

Paddy Melt (Betterthancheddar, J. Bradley Harris) broke her maiden in the second division, rallying from three lengths back in third at the eighth pole to score in 1:55.2. Premier Tess (All Bets Off, Borth) was a narrow second over longtime leader Chocolateforlunch (Dali, Paul Mackenzie).

PADDY MELT REPLAY

The winning Murray Brethour trainee finished fifth on debut at Kawartha Downs on Jul. 2 and was second in the first Prospect Series leg. Brethour, a resident of Sunderland, co-owns the $10,000 Harrisburg purchase with Robert Hicks of Pickering and Jeffrey and Lori Thomson of Chesley. The filly is the third winner from three foals for Mach Three dam Hope For Paddy.

Shes Truckin Now (All Bets Off, MacDonald) made her second start and grinded down first leg winner Pocahontas Du Lac (Betterthancheddar, Fillion) to take the third group. The latter finished second. Gimmie A Corona (Control The Moment, Anthony Haughan) took show.

SHES TRUCKIN NOW REPLAY

Teesha Symes conditions Shes Truckin Now for Shirley Symes of Springhill. The filly went for $7,000 at Harrisburg and finished third in her first leg debut. She is out of Dragon Again mare Ali Rush.

The Prospect Series resumes on Jul. 23 at Hiawatha Horse Park with the 3A leg for sophomore pacing fillies and the 3B segment for trotters of the same age and sex.

Georgian Downs will see racing again on the same day with a 7:15 p.m. EDT first post.
