Therealprincess (Source Of Pride) captured the Frank and Beth Stanfield Memorial third division on Friday (Jul. 22) at Truro Raceway to extend her undefeated season to six stakes wins.
The filly found a seam out of the pocket as the field straightened for home and roared past Jj Scarlett (Donald Gillis Jr.) to win by a length-and-a-quarter in 1:56.1. Jj Scarlett Held off Ultimate Long Shot (David Dowling) for second.
THEREALPRINCESS REPLAY
The winning filly, trained by Eddy Doucette, is six-for-six this year. Her other victories came in the P.E.I. Colt Stakes, the Donnie and George Turner Memorial ā in which she tied a Truro record ā Maritime Breeders, and two legs of the Atlantic Sires Stakes.Ā She has won 11 races and earned $82,766 in 18 career starts for owners Doucette, Blain Thibeau, Gordon Macleod, and Grant Mann. All live in Kensington.
Outrageous Style (Hes Watching) battled through a first-over trip to score going away in a lifetime-best 1:55.4 for driver Gilles Barrieau in the first division. She took over the lead in mid-stretch from Cantstopthelovin (Dowling), who dead-heated with Tobins Diva (Marc Campbell) for place.
OUTRAGEOUS STYLE REPLAY
Ronald Matheson trains Outrageous Style, who has now won seven of her 10 starts and raked in $29,253 for owner/breeder Paul Holmes of Warren Grove. She won a Grassroots and a Gold division of the Lady Slipper at two but had avoided stakes competition this season prior to Fridayās win.
Kcs Starlite (Source Of Pride, Todd Trites) notched her third tally of the season as she prevailed in an early speed duel and led at every pole in the second split. Malice Intent (Campbell) finished second over Little Miss Miley (Myles Heffernan, Sr).
KCS STARLITE REPLAY
Kcs Starlite was clocked in a career-best 1:56.2 in her fifth career win. She has earned $26,012 in 16 outings for Fredericton-based owners Donald Bishop, Bruce Macdonald, and Charles Miles, who trains the filly. She has won two legs of the N.B. Breeders stake this year.
The Frank and Beth Stanfield Memorial is open to three-year-old Atlantic Provinces-foaled pacing fillies.
Two-year-old Tobins Profit (Stonebridge Terror, Gilles Barrieau) kept his spotless record intact with a third career victory in the cardās first Atlantic Sires Stakes (AtSS) A division for freshman pacers. He was on top from the off and cruised home as Howmac Charmer (Malicious, Redmond Doucet) chased him in second. Saltwater Johnny (Stonebridge Terror, Adam Merner) finished seven-and-a-half lengths back in third.
TOBINS PROFIT
Tobins Profit won his Jun. 24 debut at Truro and is undefeated in two AtSS starts since. He has earned $12,348 for owners Kevin Dorey of Middle Sackville, Frank Brundle of East Garafraxa, and Robert Sumarah of Halifax. Daniel Romo trains the gelded son of Nuclear High mare Southern Blue, who produced AtSS champion Tobinator.
Malignity (Paul Langille, Malicious) also snagged a second AtSS win from two starts with a textbook brush-and-crush effort in the second division. He swooped from last-to-first in just over a quarter of a mile and sprinted away from his rivals in an eight-and-a-half-length romp. Bacononabiscuit (Tobago Cays, Campbell) was best of the trailing pack in second. No Boats On Sunday (Barrieau) finished third.
MALIGNITY REPLAY
The winner has scored in both of his AtSS tries and is two-for-three so far, with the loss owing to an unsuccessful debut. Langille also trains the gelding for Debbie Francis of Sweets Corner and Rosanne Langille of Lower Onslow. Out of Lady Kelleigh Anne (Royal Mattjesty), Malignity is a half-brother to 2018 Stanfield Memorial winner Royaltywestho, who also took two Maritime Breeders stake legs, among other Atlantic stakes.
The Atlantic Sires Stakes rolls on with the three-year-old pacing colts clashing in two divisions at Truro on Saturday, Jul. 23. The card also holds the Atlantic Aged Pacing Mares Series first leg and the Lindsay Construction Cup.
