Acefortyfour Dome (Up The Credit) kicked off the Atlantic Aged Pacing Mares Series with a record-breaking harness racing performance at Truro Raceway on Saturday (Jul. 23).
The Jason Hughes-trained and -driven mare tracked leader Share The Moment (Marc Campbell) through quick fractions of :27, :55.4, 1:23.2 and left the pylons on the final turn before firing to the front and taking the victory in 1:52.3. Share The Moment finished second over Havarti (Paul Langille).
ACEFORTYFOUR DOME REPLAY
The time by Acefortyfour Dome beat the previous record of 1:54.2 that was set by Ashestodiamonds in 2021. The clocking is also faster than the standard for a stallion.
Acefortyfour Dome has won 20 times and earned $137,988 in 68 career starts. Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge owns her.
Later on the card, Time To Dance (A Rocknroll Dance, Campbell) defended his title in the Linsday Construction Cup invitational. He grinded to the front before completing the first quarter, sat behind Batterup Hanover (Langille), who re-took in the second panel, and rallied in the stretch to score in 1:51.4. Beachin Lindy (Stephen Charlton) missed by a quarter length after closing quickly from the back. American Risk (Todd Trites) got up for third.
TIME TO DANCE REPLAY
Time To Dance missed the track record he set in last yearās Lindsay Construction Cup by a fifth of a second. The Campbell trainee has won 36 of 79 career outings and earned $186,399. Brent Campbell of Charlottetown and Matthew McDonald of Edwards co-own the six-year-old gelding.
The eveningās racing also included two A divisions of the Atlantic Sires Stakes for sophomore pacing colts.
Rollwithhottytoddy (Rollwithitharry, Hughes) earned his second win of the season after fighting off Stash It Away (Corey MacPherson) to win in 1:53.3. Elm Grove Quail (Langille) pipped the latter for place.
ROLLWITHHOTTYTODDY REPLAY
Rollwithhottytoddy has won four of his 22 lifetime tries for trainer Trevor Hicken, who co-owns with Todd and Trish Hardy of Windsor (N.S.). It was a new career mark for the gelding, who has earned $36,243.
Fern Hill Gusto (Stonebridge Terror) went wire-to-wire in the second division, winning handily in 1:53.3 for Campbell. Brumby (MacPherson) finished second. Woodmere Denver (Langille) took show.
FERN HILL GUSTO REPLAY
The Campbell-trained Fern Hill Gusto is six-for-17 lifetime with $49,073 in earnings. The colt has also won a leg of the Maritime Breeders stake this season among five total tallies.
Elm Grove Quiggly (Rollwithitharry, Campbell) won the sole AtSS B contest for the same division in 1:57. Campbell trains the colt for Henry Poswiata of Sydney and Lawrence Snow of Glace Bay.
Campbell won five of the day’s 11 races.
