Big upset in Groupe III tests

This day’s (July 22) groupe level action at Enghien began with the Gr. III Prix de Milan (purse 80,000€, 2150 meters autostart, European four year olds) and the 24/1 outsider Iway (4m Look de Star-Ugly) rallied for a neck win timed in 1.11.2kr.

Gabriele Gelormini teamed the Sebastien Guarato trainee that is owned by Ecurie G&F Rafre. Iway now has seven career wins good for 157,130€ earned. The 3/10 favorite Izoard Vedaquais (4m Bird Parker-Dacka Vedaquais) was a game second for driver Eric Raffin and trainer/owner Philippe Allaire. J.P Guay bred this top colt. The 7.2/1 Italiano Vero (4m Ready Cash) was three lengths back third with David Thomain aboard for trainer/owner Allaire.

The Prix Henri Cravoisier (Gr. III, 1609 meters autostart, European three year olds) saw the 6.1/1 Deus Zack (3m Victor Gio-Martina Grif) score in 1.11.7kr with Alexandre Abrivard at the lines.

Sebastien Guarto also trains this one that now two career wins from just three starts in France and advanced his lifetime earnings to 157,948. Scuderia No Ma Farm Srl is the winning owner.

Janka Somolli (4f Tropic Jet-Lanka Somolli) was second at 2.1/1 odds for reinsman Gabriele Gelormini, trainer J.D. Fichaux and Ecurie Somolli. Third to the line was 23/1 Jamaica Turbo (3f Charly du Noyer-Bella Turbo) with Franck Nivard aboard for trainer Fabrice Souloy and Ecurie Le Tremont.
