Last-to-first win for Michiatto A

Michiatto A (Mach Three, Jacob Cutting) and Rich And Miserable (Jim Taggert Jr) grab harness racing co-features at Tioga Downs on Sunday (July 31).

Machiatto A ($14.00) goes from last-to-first to capture the $12,000 Open Pace.

Agedchedar Hanover (Wally Hennessey) went right to the front but Rockin Jukebox (Aaron Byron) took over just before hitting the first quarter in :27.1.  He used a :29.2 second quarter to be first to the half in :56.3.  Kilowatt Kid N (Mike Simons) was first to make a move going first-over down the backstretch.  Rockin Jukebox led to three-quarters in 1:23.4.

As they made the turn for home Kilowatt Kid N took over the lead.  Machiatto A came flying down the stretch and zoomed on by to win in a seasonal best of 1:52.0.  Kilowatt Kid N had to settle for second.  Rockin Jukebox finished third.

MACHIATTO A REPLAY

Machiatto A is a 9-year-old gelding by Mach Three.  He is owned by Steve Manzi and trained by Randy Taft.  It was his sixth win this season and 31st career victory.

Rich And Miserable (Explosive Matter) ($3.80) cruises to easy win in the $12,000 Open Trot.

Rich And Miserable went straight to the front and led to the quarter in :29.0.  He used a :28.4 second quarter to be first to the half in :57.4.  Nextroundsonme (Mike Simons) came first-up heading for the final turn.  Rich And Miserable was first to three-quarters in 1:26.1.

As they went around the final turn Nextroundsonme and Rich And Miserable were shoulder to shoulder.  As they reached the stretch Rich And Miserable found another gear and won easily in 1:54.1.  Golden Kronos (Wally Hennessey) finished second.  Nextroundsonme had to settle for third.

RICH AND MISERABLE REPLAY

Rich And Miserable is a 7-year-old gelding by Explosive Matter.  He is trained by Todd Buter for owners Buter Farm Inc., Lynette Buter, William and Carol Fuhs.  It was his third straight win at Tioga.  He now has 39 career victories.

Wally Hennessey drove four winners on the card.  He got his wins with Magic MVP (My MVP) ($25.20), Full Support (Stay Hungry) ($2.70), Alaskan Seelster (Stonebridge Regal) ($4.60), and Joint Account ($3.40).

Tioga Downs returns to Live racing on Saturday (August 6) starting at 6:15 p.m.
