Dontblvmejustwatch (Hes Watching) rolled to an open-length harness racing victory on Thursday (Aug. 11) for his third win in four top-class starts at Northside Downs since shipping in from Ontario.
He grabbed a quick lead under guidance from Randy Getto and cruised to a :28.2 quarter and :58.1 half time. Getto called for speed on the backstretch and etched out a two-length cushion at three-quarters in 1:28.
Runaway Mystery (Harold Leblanc, Jr.) tracked the leader from the pocket, but Dontblvmejustwatch added to his margin down the stretch and crossed the line three-and-a-half lengths in front in 1:56.2.
Runaway Mystery was second-best. Mando Fun (Ryan Campbell) finished third.
DONTBLVMEJUSTWATCH REPLAY
Dontblvmejustwatch has won 11 times and earned $85,167 in 64 career starts. Dana Getto took over the geldingās training when owners Randy Getto of New Waterford, Wayne Hardy of Sydney, and Susan Macsween of River Ryan purchased the colt out of the Ontario B-track conditioned ranks in July. The five-year-old has won three of four starts since moving to Nova Scotia.
Also on the card, Kenneth Passerini recorded his first driving win in two years and his first as a trainer in six. The resident of South Bar steered his homebred mare, Topofthebar Tessa (Steelhead Hanover) to victory in the opener. It came six years after Passeriniās last training tally, when he piloted Topofthebar Tessaās dam, Scootin Mcardle, to a win in her final career start.
His last driving win was on Aug. 1, 2020 behind Dellas Hotshot at Northside Downs. He made 13 and 26 starts between victories as a driver and trainer, respectively.
Northside will go dark until its next card on Saturday, Aug. 27.
