Undefeated Crown extends NYSS reign

Tioga Downs played host to two harness racing divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for 2-year-old trotting colts & geldings on Saturday (August 13).

Crown (Chapter Seven-Amour Heiress, Brian Sears) won the $53,500 first division.

Crown crosses the line for a NYSS win

Kierkegaard K (Ake Svanstedt) was first to the quarter in :28.  Crown went on by and led with a lap to go.   He was first to the half in :57.1 and to three-quarters in 1:26.2.

As they made the turn for home the battle was for second as Crown won easily in 1:55.4. The Gruffalo (Tyler Buter) beat out Kierkegaard K for second.

Crown is a 2-year-old colt. He is owned by S R F Stable and trained by Marcus Melander.  He is a perfect three-for three in his career.  He raced for purse only.

Tillio’s Action (E L Titan-Nothing But Nice, Mike Merton) captured the $53,500 second division.

Tillio’s Action wins the second NYSS division

Kilgore S (Brian Sears) led to the quarter in :28.0.  Wild Bill Kelso (Wally Hennessey) took control as they went by the stands for the first time and was first to the half in :57.0.  Tillio’s Action ($29.20) made his move going first-over from fifth.  Wild Bill Kelso was first to three-quarters in 1:26.2.

As they made the turn for home Tillio’s Action zoomed right on by and won going away in his first career start in 1:56.3.  Cecil Hanover (Ake Svanstedt) came up late to finish second.  Sevecheetah (Trond Smedshammer) finished third.

TILLIO’S ACTION REPLAY

Tillio’s Action is a 2-year-old colt.  He is owned and trained by John Grasso.

Brian Sears drove four winners on the card.  He got his other wins with Show Me The Magic ($7.20), Kaleun ($2.70). and Maximum Express ($6.40).

Tioga Downs returns to Live racing on Sunday (August 14) with an 11-race card starting at 1 p.m.
