Tioga Downs played host to two harness racing divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for 2-year-old trotting colts & geldings on Saturday (August 13).
Crown (Chapter Seven-Amour Heiress, Brian Sears) won the $53,500 first division.
Kierkegaard K (Ake Svanstedt) was first to the quarter in :28.Ā Crown went on by and led with a lap to go.Ā Ā He was first to the half in :57.1 and to three-quarters in 1:26.2.
As they made the turn for home the battle was for second as Crown won easily in 1:55.4. The Gruffalo (Tyler Buter) beat out Kierkegaard K for second.

Tillio’s Action (E L Titan-Nothing But Nice, Mike Merton) captured the $53,500 second division.
Kilgore S (Brian Sears) led to the quarter in :28.0.Ā Wild Bill Kelso (Wally Hennessey) took control as they went by the stands for the first time and was first to the half in :57.0.Ā Ā Tillio’s Action ($29.20) made his move going first-over from fifth.Ā Wild Bill Kelso was first to three-quarters in 1:26.2.
As they made the turn for homeĀ Tillio’s Action zoomed right on by and won going away in his first career start in 1:56.3.Ā Cecil Hanover (Ake Svanstedt) came up late to finish second.Ā Sevecheetah (Trond Smedshammer) finished third.
