Talented Captaintreacherous colt Petracca has written his name amongst harness racing’s record books at just his fifth start.
The two-year-old colt won a heat of the inaugural Nutrien Equine series at Menangle today (Aug. 16) and seeled the deal with a closing quarter of 25.3 seconds.
That is the equal-fastest 400m ever seen at that venue with top class pacer Cash N Flow also recording that scintillating sectional in a victory.
Petracca led from start to finish to hold off his stablemate First Responder to win the 2300m qualifier in a rate of 1:59.3.
He has now won four of his five starts to date with his only defeat a third placing in the Group 1 Gold Crown Final.
