The brilliant come-from-behind win of Used To Be A Maid in harness racing’s $50,000 Australasian Premier Trotting Sale Final for three-year-old fillies was the highlight of a big week for the French-bred sire Used To Me.
Used To Be A Maid posted her fourth success from only eight starts and earned a new speed badge of 1:59.4 when she outfinished a top field in the Group 1 feature.
Used To Me, who is standing this season at Cobbitty Equine Farm in Queensland, was also represented by the two-year-old Stevie Gee, who won at his second start at Kilmore, and talented three-year-old filly La Perriere, a runaway winner at Ballarat.
He has sired 21 individual winners from 32 starters at an average of $20,850 per starter.
Love You, the leading three-year-old sire in both NZ and Australia and second on the all aged list in Australia this season, left two ānewā winners in the three-year-old filly Blithe, a very impressive winner at Ashburton (NZ), and Love Ya Brother (Kilmore).
Jasinova (Cambridge Raceway, NZ) and Simone Lindenny (Gore, NZ) were other recent winners sired by Love You, the latter posting her fourth win in nine starts.
Love You heads up an all-star cast of international trotting stallions available from Haras Des Trotteurs, Ballarat (VIC.).
