Vincero’ Gar (Sj’s Photo), after finishing second in his elimination the prior day, rallied stoutly off the last bend to win the 121,000€ Finale Citta’ Di Montecatini in Italy (1640 meters autostart) with Pietro Gubellini aboard at 21.3/1 odds from post seven.
Timed in 1.11.3kr the winner defeated 7.7/1 Cokstile with Vincenzo Dell’Annunziata up and third finishing pacesetter and 2.4/1 favorite Diamanten with Bjorn Goop at the lines. Elimination winner Vernissage Grif finished sixth.
The two eliminations (each for a purse of 12,100€, 1640 meters autostart) raced on August 15th went first to Diamanten and pilot Bjorn Goop in 1.11.3kr over Cokstile and Vesna, the latter with Rene Legati up. Blackfish Bar and Global Trustworthy completed the top five.
The second elimination went to 1.12.1kr timed Vernissage Grif with trainer Alessandro Gocciadoro aboard. Vincero’ Gar was second for Gubellini and Dumbo took third for Enrico Bellei. Chief Orlando was fourth and he too made the finale.
