Cream Ridge, NJ 8/19/2022 – Wrapping up the summer and moving on, the Standardbred Retirement Foundation, (SRF) thanks its wonderful sponsors, the Meadowlands Race Track and Jeff Gural, the Hambletonian Society, and our fabulously fun guests who kept sharing how much they enjoyed the Casino Night!

There were more than 200 guests keeping the tables busy and 60 Poker lovers! The poker tournament was won by Jarret Przybylski, who will enjoy an all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas, sponsored by Roberts Communications and the Meadowlands. Proceeds benefited the SRF and Trotting Horse Museum.

While we wrap up the warm months, and a scorching hot August, here is what is going on now and in the planning stages.

  • We thank our supporters for their calls to inform us of the issue in the addressing of the newsletter. We have contacted the mailing house. We apologize.
  • The Newark Mounted unit retired one of SRF’s and he is back at the farm looking for a new place to be loved. Guinness may be 23 but he has lots of miles to go. The application is on https://www.adoptahorse.org/copy-of-adopt-foster-partner-info. It appears the economy and Covid issues have slowed adoptions and that means more first-choice opportunities to bring a horse home right now.
  • The “Horse Sense” seminar is seeking sponsors in order to bring it to the rural areas so racing’s trotters and pacers receive the care they deserve. The anticipated date will be in March. It was very well received and there is much interest in the communities to be engaged in this further.
  • Join our team, SRF has positions open: Trainer; Social Media Management; Adoption, and Administrative support. These positions are in Cream Ridge, NJ
  • Foster and Adoption Partners are needed and are the backbone of our mission. Click here to learn more.
  • SRF seeks more boarding in Pa, and in NJ and retirement boarding situations from the Midwest east and north to south.
  • The Elks in Millstone Township, NJ are ready to host the Annual SRF Golf Outing on Monday, October 11. Another big door prize awaits a winner-a 50″ Smart TV! We hope to see you on the greens at the Cream Ridge Golf Course in Cream Ridge, NJ.
  • We are planning our annual online auction in early November. Donations of anything and everything that would have interest and value to help fill the hay loft for 512 trotters and pacers are greatly appreciated

There are many smiles attached that our supporters have brought so far this year. We do have to share one that will cause a little pause. (photo below is a bit graphic) Aces Rule is in need of a sponsor through next spring, it will take that long to heal. His medical care until today has been covered, thanks to social media gifts, but he will need more attention over the fall and winter months. Please touch his life with your gift or sponsorship in any amount. Click here to become a Horse Sponsor!

To make a gift, or offer help in any of the areas please email SRFhorsesandkids@gmail.com, or call Heather at 609-738-3255.
