It was a fight to the finish and Bee Two Bee (Sunshine Beach) won the harness racing battle in the $39,000 Open Handicap Pace Monday (Aug. 29) at Yonkers Raceway.
The 8th race feature started off with Iāll Drink To That (Austin Siegelman) going to the early lead with Bee Two Bee and driver George Brennan charging to the front by the opening quarter mile in :27.
Once settled in on the lead, Bee Two Bee led the field past the half mile in :56. Then in the backstretch came Anothrmastrpiece N first-up for driver Jason Bartlett with Family Recipe (Brent Holland) second-over. Anothrmastrpiece N moved into second place by the three quarters in 1:24 and was just a head behind Bee Two Bee as they started down the stretch.
Joining the battle to the wire was the pocket-sitting Iāll Drink To That and those three fought it out to the wire with Bee Two Bee holding on to win by a head in 1:52 over Anothrmastrpiece N with Iāll Drink To That a neck back in third and Family Recipe a half a length back in fourth.
