Top harness racing prospects of the Alberta Sires Stakes clashed in three divisions each of the ABSS Starlet and ABSS Rising Star on Friday (Sep. 9) at Century Downs.
G Ts Skyla (Mystician, Brandon Campbell) crushed by 10-and-three-quarter lengths in the first Starlet division on debut in 1:57.4. She gave Scott McGinn his first lifetime training win. He co-owns with breeders Gerald McGinn, Marjorie McGinn, and Terry McGinn.

Missionized (Jk Royal Flush) captured the second division in 1:59, kicking to the front from the pocket down the stretch. Michael Hennessy drove for Rodney Hennessy, who co-owns the two-time winning homebred with Lorne Duffield.

Promise Kept (Custard The Dragon) cruised to a four-and-three-quarter length score in the final Starlet contest with a 1:58.1 clocking. Campbell trained and drove the filly, who was second in the ASHA Filly Pace, for Jodi Loftus, George Rogers, and Raymond Henry.

Tin Can Timmy (Bjs Bequia) kicked off the three Rising Star divisions for male freshmen. The colt scored in 1:56.4 by a head for driver David Kelly, trainer Kelly Crump, and owner Stephen Crump.

Lukes Proclamation (Captive Audience) fought for victory in the second division in 1:57.4. He was a half-length the best for driver Michael Hennessy. Douglas Stout conditions the gelding for Derek Stout.

The Dickens (Custard The Dragon) completed stakes action with a 1:57.1 maiden-breaking win under the guidance of Phil Giesbrecht in the third split. He gave trainer Donna Sarin her first win since 2016. A numbered company owns and bred the colt.
