It does not happen every often but even the photo finish camera could not separate Funatthebeach N (Somebeachsomewhere) and The Real One (Mach Three) as they finished in a dead heat for win at Yonkers Raceway Monday (Sep. 12).
The 9th race Open Handicap harness racing pace started out with the race favorite American Dealer N (Joe Bongiorno) going right to the lead with Iāll Drink To That (Austin Siegelman) taking the two-hole seat as they raced single file to the first quarter in :27.2 and the half mile marker in :56.3.
Then Funatthebeach N and driver Jordan Stratton came first-over, giving cover to The Real One (Pat Lachance) and was in third place by the three-quarters in 1:24.2.
Funatthebeach N kept coming at American Dealer N at the top of the stretch with The Real One and Lachance staying right in the hunt to the wire. The mile went in 1:52.3 and American Dealer N was third by just a neck in the three-horse finish.
