Sant Ambroggio scores again, extends lead

Sant Ambroggio (Wheeling N Dealin) won a second straight Prospect Series harness racing contest in the last preliminary leg for rookie trotting fillies at Flamboro Downs on Tuesday (Sep. 13).

The filly led from start to finish, cutting :30.4, 1:02.1, 1:32.1, and 2:02.2 fractions as she sailed to victory for Daniel Obrian, who trains and owns her. Shes Hilarious (Travis Henry) chased her for place. Princess Resolve (Brett MacDonald) was third.

SANT AMBROGGIO REPLAY

Sant Ambroggio’s three victories to date have all come in the Prospect Series. The $18,000 yearling purchase leads the two-year-old filly trot division going into the final on Sep. 30 at The Raceway at Western Fair District.

Also on the card, trainer Paul Ritchie kicked off his career in style. His Bar Down Jim (Big Jim) won in 1:57.3 in Ritchie’s first training start. Ritchie purchased the gelding for $30,000 at the London Selected sale and owns him.

Flamboro Downs will continue racing at 6:35 p.m. EDT on Thursday, Sep. 15.
