Offers keep rolling in for unbeaten pacer

Unbeaten Southland harness racing three year old Ruapunga Lad (Raging Bull) remains unsold but the drums are beating.

Ruapunga Lad raced at Addington last Friday night (Sep. 9), winning impressively by a length and a half. 

“It was his first trip away which he handled well. It was the fastest he’s been in his life. He had a bit of a blow after,” trainer Brent McIntyre said.

The horse has returned home, and will reappear at the racetrack in three to four weeks.

“We were going to leave him up there, but he just got onto one rein when he was coming up the straight, so we thought we’d freshen him. He’s still got a bit of filling out to do so we’ll just take our time and look after the horse.”

Although owner Neil Timm has a sizeable reserve on the three year old, the offers keep rolling in. But at this stage Ruapunga Lad remains in the south.

“We’ve had a few looking but we’ll see what happens.”
