One of Hughes’ winners on the weekend presentation was in the $3,500 Preferred pace with No Plan Intended (Up The Credit).

The Jennifer Doyle trainee led at every call in the featured pace to win handily by over two-lengths in 1:53.2 over Stash It Away (Marc Campbell) and Screen Test (Corey MacPherson). Doyle co-owns No Pan Intended with Danny Birt of Earnscliffe.

Merito Hanover (Bettors Delight) captured the finale for driver Hughes with a 1:55.3 front-end score from the Trevor Hicken barn while that duo teamed up earlier on the night for a 1:57.1 win with Rollwithhottytoddy (Rollwithitharry) in race 3. Hughes’ other wins were from his own Charlottetown stable with Spicey P (Up The Credit) in 1:56.3, Century Invictus (Bettors Delight) in 1:55.3 and Tobins Party (Malicious) in a 2:01.4 maiden breaking score.

Campbell had a pair of wins from his own barn as Dreamfair Zenfire (Sunfire Blue Chip) won the $3,200 Fillies and Mares Preferred pace in 1:55.1 in race 8 and Ys Mathis (Sportswriter) was a 1:53.3 winner in race 9.

Gilles Barrieau won with Rollin Double (Roll With Joe) in a 1:56.4 win to give the New Brunswick native win number 4,992 of his career as he begins the countdown to 5,000 lifetime victories.
