SUMMERSIDE, PE – Laying feet as fast as he could in the final half, Burn Out Hanover (Well Said) paced away from his Monday (Sept. 19) evening Preferred harness racing competition at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.
Guarding the pylons for every step of the mile, Burn Out Hanover was sent to the lead by driver Brady Sweet and eased through the first two fractions in 29.1 and 1:00 flat in the $3,300 Preferred pace.
After the half-mile marker was reached, His Boy Elroy (Corey MacPherson) tried his luck first-over to engage the leader with Sweet pressing on the gas pedal to strike three-quarters in 1:28.4.
Burn Out Hanover then unloaded a 27.2 closing panel to open up by four-lengths to win in 1:56.1. Mantario (Driven by Myles Heffernan Sr.) finished second ahead of His Boy Elroy. Jeff Holmes trains Burn Out Hanover for the Orwell Bay Stable.
Holmes had a pair of winners from his Orwell base as Fern Hill Dynamic flew home to a 1:58.4 win with MacPherson at the controls in race 7.
Dawn Hubbard celebrated a training double as she travelled from Greater Lakeburn, N.B., to visit the Red Shores Summerside winner’s circle with Ultimate Flyingnun (Murphy) in 1:59.3 in race 6 and Ultimately Handsome (Dale Spence) in 1:57.1 in the evening finale.
Live racing continues Thursday evening at 6 P.M. at Red Shores Charlottetown. For replays and a complete racing schedule go to Redshores.ca.
