Sauble Attack (Bettors Delight) struck first-off-the-claim again for harness racing trainer Richard Moreau, one month after his most recent victory under identical circumstances when he was claimed right away.
The four-year-old tracked the pocket until flying up the passing lane in the stretch. Brett MacDonald crafted the 1:54.1 victory. Cyclone Joe (Sylvain Lavaille) made the winner sweat with a late charge that ended a neck short. Vicious Aloicious (Travis Cullen), the pacesetter, finished third.
Sauble Attack first entered Moreau’s barn through a claim on Aug. 9. His first start for the trainer a week later was a dominant victory, but he was immediately claimed by different connections in that start. He missed the board in four starts under Paul Court before Sylvain Cote claimed the gelding on Sep. 15.
His win on Sep. 20 was a conditioned race, and he’ll get at least one more outing for Moreau.
SAUBLE ATTACK REPLAY
Travis Cullen drove three winners as the top driver of the evening.
Flamboro Downs will resume racing on Thursday, Sep. 22 at 6:35 p.m. EDT.
