Century Mach doubles up at Fraser

Century Mach (Jk Royal Flush) nabbed her second straight harness racing victory in the Fillies and Mares Open Pace at Century Downs on Thursday (Sep. 22).

Kelly Hoerdt, seeking a triple, tucked the mare into fourth position and remained in single-file formation through first-half splits of :26.3 and :56. He pulled the trigger when flushed out on the backstretch and immediately sent the mare three-wide around the pocket-popping Rollin Withholly A (Richard Lancaster) at three-quarters in 1:24.2.

Cenutry Mach, sporting a 1/5 billing, struck the front on the final turn and resisted Mystic Shadow (Brandon Watt) down the lane to secure a 1:53.2 victory.

The latter came within a half-length of the win. In High Cotton (Scott Knight) closed for third.

CENTURY MACH REPLAY

Hoerdt trains and owns Century Mach. The four-year-old has won 15 times and earned $83,583 in 46 starts.

The win completed Hoerdt’s driving triple on the evening.

Fraser Downs will continue racing on Wednesday, Sep. 28 at 7:00 p.m. PDT.  The BC-bred Stake first leg for two-year-olds will highlight the program.
