Saulsbrook Jessie (Big Jim) turned in a wire-to-wire harness racing victory in the Fillies and Mares Preferred at The Raceway at The Western Fair District on Friday (Oct. 7) to hit a quarter-million in career earnings.
She hustled into the first turn from the pylon post to turn away two leavers and take point. She led through :28, :57.3, and 1:26.2 fractions, turning away the first-up Ladies From Hell (Tyler Moore) in the middle splits. She kicked away turning for home and thundered home to score by three lengths in 1:56.2. McKella (Jason Ryan) was second over the closing Charmbo Brie (Paul Mackenzie).
