Bradley moves his total into four digits

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Our Girl Annie made Mark Bradley’s career harness racing milestone one to remember during Atlantic Breeder’s Crown Sunday (Oct. 9) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Bradley went into Championship Sunday with 999 career driving wins and moved his total into four digits in the $25,000 Atlantic Breeder’s Crown for two-year-old pacing fillies, presented by Cavendish Farms, with Our Girl Annie (Arthur Blue Chip) in a front end score of 1:58.1.

Bradley drove the filly for trainer Eddy Doucette and owners Blaine, Jennifer and Jessica Thibeau of Kensington.

Elm Grove Redwine (Driven by David Dowling) was second ahead of Rosetown Mary (Corey MacPherson).

OUR GIRL ANNIE REPLAY

Therealprincess had her win streak snapped at 14 in the $25,000 three-year-old pacing filly Atlantic Breeder’s Crown final as Tobins Diva (Varadero Hanover, Ken Murphy) rode the pocket to win in 1:56 for trainer Kevin MacLean and owner Reg MacPherson of Stratford. Therealprincess (MacPherson) finished second with Woodmere Jazz (Marc Campbell) third. It was driver Murphy first Atlantic Breeder’s Crown victory.

TOBINS DIVA REPLAY

Fern Hill Gusto (Stonebridge Terror) led at every call to win the $25,000 three-year-old pacing colt final by two-lengths in 1:54 with JJ Xavier (Gilles Barrieau) finishing ahead of Rollwithhottytoddy (Jason Hughes). Marc Campbell trains and drives the champion son of Stonebridge Terror for Grayland Farm of Gulf Shore, N.S.

Malignity (Malicious) fired down some fast fractions to win the $25,000 two-year-old pacing colt final for trainer-driver Paul Langille’s first Atlantic Breeder’s Crown score in 1:55.4. The Malicious colt led through splits of 27.3, 55.1 and 1:24.4 to win by 12-lengths over Roman Raven (Barrieau) and Fishermans Son (Danny Gillies). Debbie Francis holds the winning ownership papers along with Rosanne Langille of Nova Scotia.

Irish Ray (Muscle Through It) remained undefeated in the $15,000 Atlantic Breeder’s Crown two-year-old trot final in 2:02.4 for trainer-driver Campbell and owners Three Wisemen Stable of Kingston. The gelding won his 10th straight over Windemeregotmuscle (Hughes) and Miss Brylee Ridge (Clare MacDonald).

Up Helly AA (Armbro Barrister, Ken MacDonald) defended his 2021 Atlantic Breeder’s Crown title in the $15,000 three-year-old trot final in 2:00.1 for trainer Clare MacDonald and owner Riley Farms Ltd., of Summerside. Headline Howie (Mike McGuigan) cut out the mile and was second with Gettinallfiredup (Campbell) third.

Jessiejesorjessica (Justice Hall, Dowling) won the $7,500 Island Oceans Aged Trot Mares final, presented by JD Marine and Diving Inc., for conditioner Jennifer Doyle, who co-owns with Danny Birt.

Twin B Tuffenuff (Rock N Roll Heaven) claimed the $15,000 Premier’s Pace in 1:52.4 in line to Barrieau for trainer Ron Matheson and owner Pat Morris of Charlottetown.

Dreamfair Zenfire (Sunfire Blue Chip) was the best in the $6,000 Fillies and Mares Preferred pace in 1:54.1 for trainer-driver Campbell and owners Ryan and Evereyy MacLeod of Souris.

Barrieau made his 5,000th trip to the winner’s circle as a driver in race 11 with Mc Pat winning an overnight dash in 1:55.3 from his own stable.
