An up-front effort landed Power And Grace (Holiday Road) in The Raceway at the Western Fair District harness racing winner’s circle as the mare made her return to London on Monday (Oct. 10).
Brett MacDonald called for a give-and-go at the quarter in :28.1 to circle longshot Sicario (Scott Coulter) and take back control. Power And Grace strolled to the half in :58.4 and hit the gas as she swung for the backstretch with pressure coming from Magnificent Seven (Tyler Borth).
Power And Grace hit three-quarters in 1:28.3 under urging as Jayport Hi Class (Greg Dustin) attacked from three-wide to become the new danger. Her burst fizzled out on the final turn though, and Power And Grace found the line a length-and-a-quarter in front in 1:58.3.
Charmbo Prince (Paul Mackenzie) rallied for second over Jayport Hi Class.
