CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – An early break in stride prevented No Plan Intended (Up The Credit) from crossing the wire first in his latest outing but he will seek redemption in the Saturday afternoon (Oct. 15) top harness racing class at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The historic capital oval has 10-dashes on display Saturday afternoon with a 12:30 P.M. opening post time.
No Plan Intended is the morning line favourite in the race 9 Preferred Pace feature for a $3,300 pot with Jason Hughes driving for conditioner Jennifer Doyle, who co-owns with Danny Birt of Earnscliffe. The Governor’s Plate Champion has won nine races in 2022 while banking $137,520 in purse money from 30 seasonal starts.
Top three-year-old pacing colt Fern Hill General (Malicious) has post 5 in the class after winning his last two starts for the team of driver Brodie MacPhee and trainer Tom Weatherbie. The sophomore is a six-time winner this season with over $47,000 earned.
Driver Gilles Barrieau celebrated win number 5,000 of his career last week with Mc Pat and will drive that same trainee from post 2 in the Saturday afternoon Preferred pace. Rounding out the field are Blue Monk (Marc Campbell), Burn Out Hanover (Brady Sweet) and Navalny (Adam Merner).
The Post Time Picks in Saturday’s card like No Plan Intended to find his way back to the winner’s circle.
“No Plan Intended made an early break in the Premier’s Cup but recovered to finish third. He’s also back in the same post and gets a new pilot so we’re predicting he hits double digits in the win column.”
Race 3 is the $2,800 back-up class and newcomer Spicey P (Up The Credit) is set to continue making an impression on East Coast racing. Hughes trains and drives for owner Robi Hughes of Stratford. Spicey P was won two of his last three races including a seasonal mark of 1:54.3 in his latest.
Dreamfair Zenfire Aims for Crown
SUMMERSIDE, PE – Dreamfair Zenfire (Sunfire Blue Chip) will try for the title she was denied in 2021 on Monday evening in the Atlantic Aged Pacing Mares Series Final, presented by Standardbred Canada, at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.

The Western track has a 6 P.M. post time for the 12-dash card with the $14,517 Atlantic Aged Pacing Mares final lining up in race 9.
Dreamfair Zenfire is heavily favoured off the rail for trainer-driver Marc Campbell and owners Ryan and Everett MacLeod of Souris. A nine-time winner in 2022, the mare rides a four-race win streak into Monday’s contest. The mare was victorious in the 2020 Atlantic Aged mares final but was mowed down as the heavy favourite in 2021 by Woodmere Skyroller.
Acefortyfourdome was second in four of her last five races including a pair of times to Dreamfair Zenfire and gets post 5 in Monday’s final for trainer-driver Jason Hughes. The last time Dreamfair Zenfire was defeated was at Exhibition Park Raceway in Saint John, N.B., by Vines To Heaven, who has post 8 on Monday for driver Ken Murphy.
Also in the championship field are Ubettimagoodone (Dale Spence), Havarti (Paul Langille), JM Sportsfan (Steven Shepherd), Tobins Brownie (David Dowling) and Share The Moment (Gilles Barrieau).
The Backstretch Beat sides with Dreamfair Zenfire on top.
“There is no question Dreamfair Zenfire is the best pacing mare on the Eastern Seaboard and grabbing post 1 at the draw makes her nearly unstoppable. She has already won nine races this season and we say she makes it 10 tonight.”
The overnight feature is in race 11 with His Boy Elroy (Jeremes Jet) off the rail for driver Hughes, trainer Phil Sizer and owners Doug Polley of Nova Scotia and Gordon McComb of Ontario. The 10-year-old went off as the favourite in his latest start but settled for third in a race won by Woodmere Ideal Art, who is in competition in New Brunswick this week. Other top Monday evening entries include Screen Test (Corey MacPherson) and Boys Turn (Dowling).
