400,000€ Grand Prix de L’UET to Ideal du Pommeau

Ideal du Pommeau (4m Ready Cash-Aime Moi) rallied late in the lane for Matthieu Abrivard to win the Grand Prix de L’UET (Gr. I, purse 400,000€, 2100 meters autostart. European four year olds) timed in 1.11.5kr over the rain-soaked cinders at Paris-Vincennes Friday, Oct. 14.

Iznogoud Am (4m Muscle Hill-Beauty of Gray) also rallied late ad held second with Bjorn Goop driving for Courant AB and trainer S.P. Pettersson, The 6.6/1 odds Inoubliable (4f Prodigious-Dream Life) was third at 6.6/1 with Eric Raffin aboard for trainer Philippe Moulin and Jean Philippe Dubois’ Ecurie Victoria Dreams.

The 9/10 favorite Italiano Vero (4m Ready Cash-Baracka d’Henlou) set the pace for David Thomain and held fourth, this one owned and trainer by Philippe Allaire. I Want You (4f Ganymede-Viva la Vida) was fifth at 104/1 with trainer Louis Baudron abord this diminutive mare that is owned and was bred by Etiennette Dubois. The well-regarded Iway was a scratch.

Heraut d’Armes (5m Ready Cash-Statue of Liberty-Goetmals Wood) rallied for trainer/driver Jean Michel Bazire to capture the Gr. I Championnat European des 5Ams at Vincennes (purse 100,000€, 2100 meters autostart, five-year-old European eligibles) timed in 1.10.7kr and off at 8.3/1 odds.

This was his 13th career victory and his earnings advanced to 225,550€. He made a huge run in the final bend and continued on throughout the lane for the length win over 1.4/1 odds favorite Hohneck (5m Royal Dream-Caranca) who set the pace for Francois Lagadeuc and owner/trainer Philippe Allaire.

Hip Hop Haufor (5m Up And Quick-Villa Haufor) rallied on the far outside to land third for breeder/owner/trainer/driver Christian Bigeon. First Blond at 69/1 was fourth ahead of 4.5/1 Hooker Berry that secured fifth. The purse distribution returned to the normal seven places in this event.

Dues Zack (3m Victor Gio-Martina Grif-Varanne-Fauve Grif) rallied to easily secure the 1.11.32kr timed victory in the Gr. I Championnat Europeen des 3Ans (purse 100,000€, 2100 meters autoistart, three-year-old open).

Eric Raffin teamed this 9/1 odds winner for trainer Sebastien Guarato and owner Scuderia No No Ferm Srl. This was the third career win for Dues Zack and it advanced his life earnings to 207,448€.

The 14/1 outsider Juliet Papa Bravo (3f Ready Cash-Une Lady En Or) took second handled by Clement Duvaldestin for trainer Thierry Duvaldestin and breeder/owner Jean Pierre Barjon. Just A Gigolo (3f Boccador de Simm-Blue Valentine) held third for pilot Franck Nivard and breeder/owner/trainer Philippe Allaire.

Juninho Dry (3m Carat Williams-Delicatessen) captured fourth with P.Ph. Ploquin up for trainer Guarato and Gio Cash (3m Victor Gio-Give Me Love) was fifth for Gabriele Gelormini and trainer D.P. Tesselaar.

Note, the sire Victor Gio is a son of Ready Cash from the great mare Ilaria Jet by Pine Chip, who won 150,389€. The maternal family goes back to the legendary New York State mare Oak Hill Susie by Sharpshooter.
