A four-win evening by harness racing driver Scott Coulter at Flamboro Downs on Wednesday (Oct. 19) moved him closer to the top of the drivers’ standings.
The colt (Dudes The Man) kicked off the card for Coulter with an explosive victory in 1:58.4. Scott West owns and trains the six-year-old stallion, who was a mild upset at 6-1.
Coulter struck again two races later with Bettors Dream (Bettors Delight), scoring in 1:57.1 for trainer Michelle Sherman and owner Kyle Strejch. It was the eight-year-old gelding’s 28th career win.
Journeyman Uf Bettors Hanover (Bettors Delight) took his 41st lifetime win and gave Coulter his third of the night in a 1:58.1 mile. West also owns and trains the 12-year-old gelding.
Coulter then completed his quadruple as he got home E L Lonely Charlie (Up The Credit) over Zippidy Zoom in 1:59 to bookend the card. It was the four-year-old Tim Jacobson-trained gelding’s fifth career win for owner/breeder James Lewis.
The reinsman narrowly outshined fellow drivers Travis Cullen and Austin Sorrie, who each steered three to victory.
Coulter is now four wins behind Brett MacDonald, who has 87 tallies, in the drivers’ table at Flamboro this year.
Flamboro Downs will see racing again on Thursday, Oct. 20, beginning at 6:35 p.m. EDT.
