Black Tie Bash (Chapter Seven) got it done for the third straight week in the top harness racing dash at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Thursday (Oct. 20).

Driver Robert Shepherd employed similar tactics to last week, sliding back to fourth in the five-horse group in a :28.1 first panel. He waited for Seeyou Men (Guy Gagnon) to take the initiative first-up just past the half in :58.3 and slid the gelding out second-over.
Black Tie Bash sat on cover to three-quarters in 1:26.4 before fanning three-wide as the field swung for home. He surged to the top by mid-stretch, defeating Seeyou Men’s brief resistance, and stopped the timer in 1:56.
He outkicked Seeyou Men by a length-and-a-half. Cold Rage (Samuel Fillion) finished third.
BLACK TIE BASH REPLAY

Gagnon, the track’s leading driver by a big margin, padded his stats with a four-win night.

Krick has been the trainer in 181 of the 10-year-old’s 183 career starts. Owner Robyn Lawlor of Camden East greeted driver Ryan Guy with a hug in the winner’s circle.
