Cream Ridge, NJ -11/3/2022 – This young man had his dream come true yesterday when he adopted Whitesand Hooligan!
This morning he opened his eyes, pulled on his boots and ran right out to start their life of love and making memories together. Also known as Duke, he was another great save from slaughter by the Standardbred Retirement Foundation, (SRF) thanks to our donors!
We are receiving many calls and emails inquiring about our annual online auction scheduled for this month. Unfortunately, this fundraiser is postponed. A new date is in the plans for 2023. We thank our donors for gifts, and our shoppers who have supported this in the past and are always appreciating donations year-round.
SRF is hosting a huge tack sale on Saturday, November 12th and will have 80 horses to meet! This is not a Holiday Event as we have had in the past with tastings and other activities, but if you love horses we have them to meet. Prepare to pick up blankets and all kinds of tack, and shop 15% off our logo apparel for great holiday gifts, and for men too.
We have an indoor area for tack and shopping should the weather not permit us to be outside. Donations of tack are also appreciated. Volunteers are appreciated! Supporting this by purchasing tickets and helping by selling them is urgent this year more-so than in the past.
Our annual raffle to win $5,000 is ready and in the mail to SRF friends. We count on this generosity to fill the haylofts and grain bins to feed our 500+ trotters and pacers during the upcoming cold months. A full belly is what keeps a horse warm.
The cost to feed a horse has increased by 40%, this is very taxing on SRF this year. The winner will be announced on December 7th, 2022. Tickets may also be purchased directly from SRF, please contact the office at 609 738 3255 or by emailing SRFhorsesandkids@gmail.com Giving Tuesday is coming, November 29th. SRF is hoping for a generous gift to start a match for others to build on. Please start the momentum. Contact Judith Bokman at 609 738 3255.
We are so excited to say thank you and to share that our number of foster homes increased by 62% in 2022! Volunteers, Foster Homes, Adoption Partners, and our CHAPS Program need your help. These are very rewarding for compassionate horse lovers.Ā SRF’s logo apparel is stocked up in its online store, check it all out by clicking here.
A new website is in the works so look for some fabulous photos and information at Adoptahorse.org soon.
