Harness Analyst – 8th November Cup Day Special

Harness racing hits Addington again today (Tuesday 8th November) for the biggest meeting of the year. The racing starts at 12:00pm and we highlight the card detailing every horse and its chances on the big day.

Race 1 SAUNDERS ROBINSON BROWN HANDICAP TROT $25,000, 3YO & OLDER R60 & FASTER DISCRETIONARY,
2600m

1. Simone Lindenny  Draw helps but will need a good run to figure here. Leaving for now
2. Royal Del He fought on well in his trial last week and might be the early leader. Place chance
3. Masterly Running on in a record run race last start. Up to beating these but will need manners
4. Light Of The Moon Runs her best races near the front and can run time. Could surprise.
5. The Fox Up in a tough grade and hard to see him beating this field. Not for us.
6. Franco Josiah Manners have improved and another who likes to race handy. Place chances best
7. Love N The Port 10m Has been ok the last few but might find a couple a bit better. First four chance
8. Son Of Patrick 10m Getting fitter with racing and could surprise a few in this. Needed here.
9. I Dream Of Jeannie 10m Won well at last years meeting and tough win last start. Include again
10. Time Up The Hill 10m Speedy mare who is out of form. Will need luck to figure here but can surprise
11. Harold Smith 10m Building up some form now and will be hard to beat with luck in the running
12. Peregrine 10m Southern mare with top driver booked. Stand suits but place chances best.
13. My Moments Now 20m Handicap an issue but can run time. Rough place hope at best
14. Andy Hall 20m Galloped in a strong field last start but is better than that. Chance at longer odds
15 Highgrove Scratched
16 Call Me Trouble 20m Northern form has been ok but a big ask from 20m. Might struggle here.

Race Notes:  The way the track is running it might be tough for the backmarkers to work into the race. I Dream Of Jeannie is in top form and could be a fraction over the odds in this race.

Race 2 HYDROFLOW CUP DAY MAIDEN MOBILE PACE $20,000, NON-WINNERS 2YO & OLDER MR46 TO MR50, 1980m

1. Hit The Lights  Scratched
2. Rakero Storm Fair run last start but might struggle against some of these. Outside place hope
3. Aroda Ok when last produced and drawn to go forward early. Could surprise and can place
4. Choco Lou Good second at the trials last week but will need to have improved to figure here
5. Commander Ben Scratched
6. Ohoka Le Bron Smart trial last week against the best 3yos. Bookies gave great odds. Liked
7. Mister Smartee Tidy run first up and trial last week was good. One of the major players in this
8. Shell Shock Has gate speed and likely to go forward early. Can get some money here with luck
9. Golden Bay Tricky draw and will probably go back early. Hard to see him getting into it. Risking
10. Ambleside Drive  Ran a couple of placings earlier in the year. Will be up against it from the draw
11. Topaz First couple of starts only fair and a big step up here. Likely to struggle in this field
12. Venturesome Arden Getting better with racing but draw hurts. Outside place chance at best.
13. Playing With Stars Big step up in class for this and will be paying big money. Not for us.
14. Cougar Express Has run some tidy races previously but drawn badly. Will need luck to figure.
15. Sinbad From a strike rate stable and has run quicker times than a lot of these. Include
16. Dalton Shard Great run fresh but will need to be to be on his best game to win this. Place hope

Race Notes: Looks like being a leader dominated race with plenty of speed off the front line. Ohoka Le Bron, Mister Smartee and Shell Shock all get off the gate and look the hardest to beat from the front. 

Race 3 MITRE 10 HANDICAP TROT $25,000, R51 TO R65 DISCRETIONARY, 3200m

1. Cody Banner One paced trotter who will appreciate the extra distance. Place chance in this
2. Salvo Scratched
3. Streaming Live Ok last start but up in grade and distance. Will race handy but may struggle here
4. Clyde Track and distance suit and he normally steps ok. One for longer odds in this field
5. Resolve Tough mare and trainer gets them ready for big occasions. Has winning claims
6. Domination’s Call Fast finisher who won well last start. Can run in the top three with luck
7. Zsa Zoe Building some form and the 3200m will not worry her. Could spice up the exotics
8. Missalyssa Has a good record over the extreme distance. Top selection in this field.
9. Royal Pride Top driver booked and stronger now. Would not surprise to see him run a good race
10. Trixton Time Better suited to shorter races with her speed. Prepared to risk in this field
11. Excuse My French Scratched
12. Charlie P Great trial last week to prepare for this. In good form and one of the major players here
13. Muscle Bank Has speed but a bit in or out in her races. At her best she could be a top four chance
14. The Bloss 10m Quick beginner who gets herself into the race early. Tough mare who can run top four
15. Show Me The Gray 10m was ok in this race last year so can stay. Good beginner who is a place hope
16. Maui 10m Manners a concern but has has a touch of speed. Will need luck to be any chance here
17. Sioux Princess 10m At her best would be right in this. Toss a coin at the start for her manners though
18. Jimmy Carter 10m Another with ability but lacking in early manners. If he begins safely he is a chance.

Race Notes: The 3200m might trip a few up in this race. Missalyssa has form over the extreme distance and should race handy. She would be hard to beat if she found the front.

Race 4 GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND MOBILE PACE $25,000, 2YO & OLDER R47 TO R51, R52 WITH COND., 1980m

1. Live On Legend Top driver booked and he has early speed. Outside place chance from the draw
2. Boarding Call Lobs up on occasions and has the draw but will need luck. Risking in this
3. Victor Bravo Out of form and hard to see him in the finish here. Others better so risking
4. Skittle Bomb Good win fresh but then disappointing. Trialled ok since and is a chance in this
5. Da Vinci Scratched
6. Millwood Indie Running on last start and will be fitter. Money coming for her so is a win hope
7. Celtic Spirit Huge run at recent trials shows he is fit and ready to go. One of the better chances
8. The Coalman Tricky draw but he is in good form for this. Will need luck but is a place chance
9. Coachella Has gate speed but hard to see her crossing from the wide draw. Chance if she does
10. Come Together Tricky draw but good if they go hard all the way. Will need gaps in the straight
11. El Chico Scratched
12. Moonlite Dream Running on last start and better than the form suggests. Not the worst in this
13. De La Renta Big step up in grade for her here. Others stronger so risking in this field.
14. Anna Love Has a ton of speed but negated by the draw. Will get back but will be finishing on late.
15. Barnstormer Tricky draw and hard to see him getting into it. Prepared to risk from the draw.
16. Dance Till Dawn Has been unlucky but will need to do some work at some stage. Place chance

Race Notes: Plenty of front row speed in this race. Celtic Spirit looked strong at the Cup trials and would be hard to run down if he finds the front.

Race 5 ALABAR (JUNIOR FREE-FOR-ALL) MOBILE PACE $35,000, 3YO & OLDER FFA, 2600m

1. The Falcon Has been racing much better fields and drawn to race handy. One for longer odds
2. Corravally Star  Quick beginning last start and strong to the finish. This is harder. Place at best
3. Tommy Waterhouse Has been disappointing lately. Others stronger so risking here.
4. Macandrew Aviator Punching above his weight in tougher fields. Could surprise with luck
5. Terry Racing well but not sure he is at his best. Will need to on top of his game to figure here.
6. Mikey Maguire Form has dropped off and he races best in front. Not sure he can lead in this
7. Republican Party Quick beginner who was big in his latest trial. Top selection in this field
8. One Change Continues to be unlucky and tricky draw in this race. One for longer odds
9. Stylish Memphis Has raced the best mares and will be fitter for this. Outside place hope
10. Sand Wave Good form for this and he should get a cozy run on the pegs. Needed in this
11. Shan Noble Recent form better than it reads on paper. Draw suits and he can place at longer odds
12. Got You Covered Out of form but has been racing better fields. Draw makes it hard work for him
13. Cranbourne  Big drop in class and back to the mobile the key. Can make his presence felt here
14. Henry Hubert  Tricky draw but has raced well in better fields. Outside place chance at best

Race Notes: Republican Party in top form and a big run at the Cup trials in preparation. It will take a good horse to knock him off if he can find the front early.

Race 6 HARRISON BLOY MOBILE PACE $25,000, 2YO & OLDER R52 TO R55, R56 WITH COND., 1980m

1. Ajira Drawn well and has the speed to be competitive here. Can run top three
2. Stephs Boy Good gate speed and he will race handy. Not the worst at longer odds in this
3. Kowhai Magic Out of form and coming in fresh. Prepared to back against in this field
4. Jimmy James Maguire Up in class but fast enough to be a threat. Could surprise with luck
5. She’s Tough Lean course stats a concern and she is out of form. Prefer over longer. Risking
6. Invitation Only Form only fair but course and distance suit. One for longer odds in this
7. No Matter Wat Likely to head forward early. Is tough and will be in it for a long way
8. Riveered Stable does well on Cup day but draw hurts. Can still run a good race in this
9. Sporty Charlie  Drawn wide and might go back early. Harder to win from back in the field
10. Vinke B Cosy run on the fence might work out well in this. Can place with gaps in the straight
11. Chris Kyle In good form but up in grade for this. Draw ok and could surprise at longer odds
12. Tom Martin Racing ok but hard to see him getting into the race from the draw. Risking
13. Snow Robyn Draw hurts in a race likely to be leader dominated. Will need luck to figure
14. Casino Action Gate speed negated by the draw. Will need luck to get into the finish.

Race Notes: Tricky field which is quite even. Gate speed from numbers 1,2,4,6 and 7 so toss of the coin for who comes out in front in this one.

Race 7 NEVELE R FILLIES SERIES FINAL (MOBILE PACE) $140,000, 3YO FILLIES, 1980m

1. Icee Styxie  Should get a cosy run on the fence and has the speed to stick on for a top four
2. Monaco Grace Upset a similar field here from a similar draw two starts ago. Not the worst
3. Rakero Rebel Has been running time and likely to be one of the early leaders here. Include
4. Artisan Racing well up North but big jump in grade. Draw helps and place hopes at best
5. True Fantasy  Has been disappointing but will go forward early. Win chance with no attackers
6. Perfect Bet  Has been racing well in lower grades but big step up here. Top four chance at best
7. Obsession Will need to be at her best to figure here. Prepared to risk in this field
8. First Rose Has been racing ok but wide draw counts against. Outside place chance
9. Chambray  Wide draw means she will probably drop back early. Chance if she goes forwards
10. Queen Of Diamonds  Has good form and will get a cosy fence run. Can go close with luck
11. A Bettor You Scratched
12. Miki Montana Racing ok up North but well up in grade for this. Outside place chance in this
13. Dance Till Dawn Scratched
14. Lady Of The Light Draw hurts in a race likely to be leader dominated. Outside place chance at best
15. Fernleigh Blackbird Gate speed negated by the draw. Will need luck to get into the finish. Risking

Race Notes: Another tricky race with gate speed from the inside out. True Fantasy no good thing to lead here with Monaco Grace and Rakero Rebel drawn inside her. Queen Of Diamonds will have the last say if the gaps come late.

Race 8 HORNBY LIQUOR CENTRE (WORTHY QUEEN) HANDICAP TROT $35,000, SPECIAL, 2000m

1. The Dominator Out of form and likely to be outclassed in this. Prepared to risk
2. Midnight Dash Good last start but others here are better. Will need luck but top four chance
3. Mataderos Ok last start and a big threat if he can find the front early. Has to be included
4. Majestic Lavros Good beginner who is in good form. Hard to see winning but has place claims
5. Andy Hall Scratched
6. The Fox Scratched
7. Aardiebythehill Has been ok without being brilliant. Place hopes best in this field
8. Bolt For Brilliance Top trotter who will be better for the last start effort. Top selection in this
9. Oscar Bonavena Down on form but he has raced well here in the past. Top three player
10. Majestic Man Stand suits and so does the distance. In good form and can trouble the favourite

Race Notes: Bolt For Brilliance looks home for the money here with a safe beginning. Dangers are Mataderos and Majestic Man

Race 9 WOODLANDS STUD SIRES’ STAKES SERIES FINAL (MOBILE PACE) $170,000, 2YO COLTS & GELDINGS, 1980m

1. Sherlock Should get a good run on the pegs. A danger to the favourite with the pace on
2. Don’t Stop Dreaming Drawn to lead and very hard to beat if there are no attackers midrace
3. Son Of Mac Has been strong in his races but can not see him crossing the #2. Outside place chance
4. Rakamurph Will need to be at the top of his game to beat this field. Top four chance at best
5. Alta Meteor Has good form against this grade. Hard to see him winning but can place
6. Cougar Express Scratched
7. Final Collect Keeps drawing badly but racing well enough to be an outside place chance with luck
8. Seve Draw makes it hard but he has been good against similar fields. Top four chance at best
9. OK Boomer drawn to follow the stable mates and a place hope from the draw. Include
10. Carrera Rapido Late finish last start and could sneak a run through early. Outside place chance
11. Watermelon Sugar Scratched
12. With Style From a strike rate stable but outside place chances are best from the draw
13. Frankie Major Racing well but hard to see him figure here. Others here are stronger
14. Charlie Brown Will have to do a power of work from the draw and prepared to risk in this
15. Merlin Unbeaten pacer who is a champion if he can win this. Draw makes it tough for him

Race Notes: Don’t Stop Dreaming drawn to lead and hard to see Merlin being able to get into the race without working hard mid race. Best dangers to the favourite are Sherlock and Ok Boomer drawn in behind him.

Race 10 AVON CITY FORD MOBILE PACE $25,000, 3YO & OLDER R63 TO R70, R71 WITH COND., 1980m

1. Get Up N Dance Racing well and a big chance of winning if he can hold the lead early
2. American Me Racing well the last few starts but not sure distance suits. Outside place chance
3. Magic Four Could be the early leader and has claims if he can hold the front or trail in this
4. Franco Indie Down on form but trainers can get them ready for big races. Liked in this field
5. Homebush Lad Has been unlucky the last few races but never gets space. Place chance with luck
6. No Time Like Now has gate speed but strong field here. A chance if he can cross them at the start
7. Last Of The Mohicans Draw hurts and would need a good run in transit to figure. Risking
8. Chal Patch Has gate speed and in good form but others look better. Top four chance with luck
9. Steel The Show Down in grade but hard to see him in the right spot from the draw. Risking
10. Franco Norton Fence run will suit and he is a winning chance with gaps in the straight.
11. La Rosa Scratched
12. Heisenberg Has been ok against similar fields in the past. One for longer odds in this
13. Cheezel Tricky draw but she does have closing speed. Will need luck to get into the finish
14. Soundsofcash Fast mare down on form. Only chance is a ton of pace and a good run in transit

Race Notes: Franco Indie out of form on paper but at his best would win this. Hard to beat if they have him spot on.

Race 11 IRT NEW ZEALAND TROTTING CUP (STAND PACE) $600,000, 3YO & OLDER FFA, 3200m

1. Self Assured  Not sure the draw will suit but he has a master driver on board. Winning claims
2. Majestic Cruiser Aussie visitor who has beaten similar fields in the past. Need to include
3. Akuta  Trainer thinks he has a chance so that carries a lot of weight. Can go close with luck
4. Krug Start the key to his chances here. If the best version of Krug turns up he has winning claims
5. Spankem Getting back into top form at the right time. Good beginner who can run a cheeky race
6. Heza Sport Unknown quantity in this class and over the distance. Boilover chance with a sit
7. Pembrook Playboy Not quite finishing off as well as he can. Prepared to risk in this field
8. Copy That  Last years winner who is in top form. If can find the front he will be hard to beat
9. Old Town Road Fast pacer who has showed he can foot it with the best. Winning claims
10. Kango Possibly the toughest horse in the race. If the pace is on he will be finishing strong
11. Smiffy’s Terror Up in grade and will need all favours to be a chance in this. Risking
12. The Falcon Scratched
13. Rock N Roll Doo  Aussie visitor who will be very hard to beat if he gets the run to suit.
14. Steel The Show Scratched
15. B D Joe In great form but not sure the distance will suit. Outside place chance at best
16. Alta Wiseguy Fast beginner who needs a good run to be competitive here. Risking
17. South Coast Arden Down on form and draw not great. Hard to see him figuring in the finish
18. Cranbourne Scratched

Race Notes: One of the more even Cup fields seen in recent years. Aussie runners always a danger and with Copy That back in form, Akuta added to the mix and Old Town Road with his speed at the finish, it is hard to get confident about any runner. Should be a great race.

Race 12 FIRST DIRECT TAXIS TROT $25,000, 3YO & OLDER R45 TO R50, 2600

1. Illegal Alien Good stepper but up in class here. Outside place chance at best in this field
2. Mixed Faith Manners early a concern but good enough to get some money with a clean beginning
3. Make My Sundon Good stepper who will take catching if he gets a soft run in front. Needed
4. Jasprit Trouble Good win in maiden grade last start but big jump in class for this. Risking
5. Almighty Fear Beginning well and form is good. Not the worst in this field. Needed
6. Pyramid Mystic Stable is always a chance in these types of races. Manners a concern but can win
7. Madeleine Stowe Racing ok but some here are better. Outside place hope at best in this
8. Dwindle Star Good beginner who ran well last start. Place chance with a good run in transit
9. Beyond The Horizon Out of form and hard to see her figuring in the finish here. Risking
10. El Conqueror Good last start and trainer normally goes well on Cup Day. Winning claims
11. Boss Kenny Only fair in recent starts but has one of the faster times in the race. Place chance
12. Speeding Spirit Good win last start but up in grade and others are better. Risking here
13. Emma Louise Scratched
14. Hanover Da Moon Lobs up every now and then but will need all favours to place here.
15. The Royal Gamble Had excuses last start and better than that. Place hope with luck in transit.
16. Ti Amo Belle Has ability but has been breaking. Has claims if she can get around with no mistakes
17. Ellatine Scratched
18. Galway Girl Manners the main concern but she has a big motor. Good chance with luck in running

Race Notes: An even bunch here and good beginners are always a threat in the cup day trotting races. Runners in that category are 1,3,5,7 and 8 but a hard race to narrow down to a few runners.

Race 13 THE BOX SEAT ‘ON EVERY WEDNESDAY’ MOBILE PACE $25,000, 3YO & OLDER R56 TO R62, R63 WITH COND.,
1980m

1. Artatac In good form and drawn to suit. Winning claims with the speed on in front
2. No Terror Drawn well and top driver on board. Needs to lift but a chance at longer odds
3. Classy Dancer Has gate speed but out of form. Others here look better and top four at best
4. Onedin Miki Has been big the last couple of starts. One of the better chances in this field
5. Here’s Herbie Racing well and has the speed to be very competitive here. Major player
6. Boudica Racing ok but mobile racing not her forte. Prepared to risk in this field
7. Jimmy Arma Needs a good run in transit to figure in this field. Outside place chance at best
8. Happy Place Racing well but wide draw not ideal. Will need luck to figure here
9. Onedin MikiTricky draw but can not ignore the form. Should go close to running top three
10. Harrison Fence run will suit but not sure there will be gaps in the run home. Not the worst
11. Jazelle Out of form but conditions suit here. If she gets a soft run then will be finishing on
12. Mach Quillan Tricky draw and hard to see him getting into the finish from the draw. Risking
13. Red Right Hand Last couple not so good but he will be finishing on late. Needs luck to get close
14. Evangalist Bad draw will hurt her chances. She can run time but will need all favours to place

Race Notes: The Purdon/Cullen stable normally do well on Cup day and their two runners Onedin Miki and Cyrus look hard to beat in this race. Here’s Herbie and Artatac also have good form on the board.
