Blacks A Dance, a good looking A Rocknroll Dance gelding, is rated Queensland harness racing’s leading sprinter, particularly after his success in the Group 3 $31,160 Garrard’s Be Good Johnny Sprint at Albion Park (Nov. 5).

After working overtime early, the five-year-old assumed control at the end of the first quarter, was steadied in the middle stages and then peeled off a 54.8 seconds last half to stave off his rivals.

The mile rate for the 1660 metres was 1:52.9.

Earlier in the season Blacks A Dance established a Albion Park track record of 1:49.2.

A Rocknroll Dance sired two ‘new’ two-year-old filly winners last week in First Dance NZ (Geelong) and Rockon Allie (Marburg).

He was also represented by three-year-old winners Modern Jive (1:56.1), Island Tee Rex (1:57.8) and Rollin Downtheriver (1:57.9).

Master Publisher, a New Zealand bred son of A Rocknroll Dance, chalked up his tenth success at Gloucester Park last Friday.

A Rocknroll Dance, who stands at the Somerset Farms stud, of Pete and Chantal McMullen, is enjoying his best ever season. He has left 355 individual winners in Australia, NZ and North America and they have amassed $8.8 million in stakemoney.
