Confidence is at a high for Menangle Park harness racing trainer Jarrod Alchin as he prepares for a dual state feature assault this Saturday (Nov. 12).
Headlining the charge of Alchinās feature runners is Bling It On filly Madrid.
After a down the track performance in the Breeders Challenge major final at Menangle a fortnight ago, Alchin believes the three-year-old can bounce back in the Group 1 Breeders Challenge Blue Final at Menangle on Saturday.
āI was really happy with her in the Breeders Challenge, she was in the breeze and when they went 26 around the bend itās not really her go,ā said Alchin.
āShe then copped a check in home straight and was only beaten nine metres.
āCam (Hart) was really happy with her and her work has been fantastic since.
āActually all of my runners this Saturday worked well this morning (Wednesday).ā
Alchin is looking forward to debuting Tintin In America filly Havahh Nice Day for his stable in the Breeders Challenge Blue Final for the two-year-old fillies.
Formerly trained in the Riverina, Havahh Nice Day has had eight starts to date for one win.
āThey brought her up to race at Penrith and she went ordinary and we later discovered that she was a bit sick,ā said Alchin.
āIāve since trialled her and she went really well and the form is strong out of that trial.
āSheās going to struggle from the wide draw on Saturday but going forward she will be a nice filly.ā
Alchin will not be on track for his two Group 1 starters, instead he will be in Queensland with his two trotters Regal Attire (Muscle Hill) and Doff Your Cap (Peak DNK) that are engaged in the Group 2 AQWA Constructions Trotters Spring Sprint at Albion Park.
āI think they are the two best horses in the race,ā said Alchin.
āDoff Your Cap trialled really well and could have gone faster according to Will Rixon (driver) and Regal Attire has been working strong.
āAll my horses on Saturday have a good chance but Madrid is my best.ā
