Ontario Racing to publish purse statements

TORONTO, November 17, 2022 – Ontario Racing has partnered with its member racetracks to regularly publish purse statements on its website as part of its commitment to educating and engaging stakeholders by transparently sharing data and information.

The purse statements break down the sources of the funding, provide horsepeople with the annual purse budget at each Ontario racetrack, and the amount paid year-to-date at the time of publishing.

“This is great for people to know what the purses will be backwards, and forwards,” said Ontario Racing Board and Standardbred Improvement Program Committee Member Ian Fleming. “Everyone will know how much is left, where the purses are at for each track, as well as have a better understanding of where the purses come from.”
