Duke Lavictoire (Royalty For Life) surprised the Rideau Carleton Raceway betting public by winning as the long shot on the board in Thursday’s (Nov. 17) Preferred Handicap Trot.
The gelding sat behind Seeyou Men (Guy Gagnon) after leading through the opening quarter and maintained the pocket until the stretch. There, driver Jacques Beaudoin gave Duke Lavictoire the inside lane and got him up to win by a half-length in 1:56.4 at 26-1. Seeyou Men edged Cold Rage (Stephane Brosseau) for place in a blanket finish.
DUKE LAVICTOIRE REPLAY
Duke Lavictoire is now 16-for-36 lifetime and has compiled a bankroll of $77,365. Andre Lachance trains the four-year-old for Suzanne Lavictoire of St. Eugene.
The next card at Rideau Carleton Raceway is set for Sunday, Nov. 20 with a 6:30 p.m. EST first post.
