Dontpokethedragon (Custard The Dragon) can boast a two-for-three record at Flamboro Downs after winning the harness racing track’s Preferred Handicap for the second time on Wednesday (Nov. 23).
Operating as the favourite against four foes, the gelding claimed an early lead, allowed Twin B Powerball (Brett MacDonald) to pass as they approached the quarters in :27.3, and took back command in the second panel. He and driver Travis Cullen reached the midway point in :57.2 and edged away in an up-tempo third quarter that finished in 1:25.4.
Twin B Powerball chased down the lane, but he was two lengths adrift as Dontpokethedragon scored in 1:53.4.
Ideal Perception (Anthony Haughan) finished third.

Dontpokethedragon is enjoying a strong first season in Ontario. Cullen took part ownership of the five-year-old at the beginning of the year and brought him home from British Columbia. Jodie Cullen has trained the gelding to seven wins in 29 starts this year. J J J Stables of Prince George and Paul Sanders of Surrey both co-own the 24-time winner in 83 career tries who has earned $228,200.
