Saint K toughs it out, Warren takes five

WASHINGTON, PA, Dec. 28, 2022 — Saint K (Sebastian K S-Mauresmo) drew even with his stablemate, Gold Stones, in the final turn, then edged past in deep stretch to capture Wednesday’s (Dec. 28) harness racing feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $15,400 Conditioned Trot.

Shawn Johnston edged off the cones for a potential quarter-pole move with Saint K but thought better of it, opting instead to preserve Saint K’s brush until later in the mile.

That proved a wise decision, as the 4-year-old gelding moved first over from third and downed Gold Stones by a neck in 1:55.4 over a sloppy surface while Fawn De Touch shot the Lightning Lane for show.

SAINT K REPLAY

Ridge Warren collected five wins and Aaron Merriman three on the 13-race card while Jacob Fox enjoyed a training double and a driving victory.
