Harness racing’s newest excitement machine Captain Ravishing (Captaintreacherous) is back in work and ready to tackle some of the sport’s big four-year-old features.

Captain Ravishing

He produced one of the best performances ever seen at Melton on November 19 when he smashed the 2240m track record from the breeze while winning the Breeders Crown Series 3YO Colts and Geldings Final by nearly 30m.

He was then given a brief freshen-up and is now back in full training ahead of a campaign initially geared towards the 4YO Bonanza at Melton on February 4 and Chariots of Fire at Menangle on February 18.

“You’ll see him shortly,” trainer Emma Stewart said.

“He’s back in work, up and fast working and he’s getting ready for the Chariots.

“We’ll just see how he comes up. He might have a run before the Bonanza, then the Bonazna and hopefully the Chariots.”

Stewart’s partner Clayton Tonkin has also put the $1million Miracle Mile (March 4) on the radar for the bay colt.

Captain Ravishing’s seven starts for Stewart have produced outstanding wins in the Colin and Heather Holloway 3YO Classic, Reg Withers 3YO Classic, a Victoria Derby heat and Breeders Crown heat, semi-final and final.

His career record now stands at eight victories from 12 career runs for $178,140 in prizemoney.
