Females dominated the Prix de Bourgogne New Year’s Day at Paris-Vinecennes as the ZeTurf fourth qualifier to the Prix d’Amerique took place.
Delia du Pommereux (10f Niky-Novre du Pommereux) scored in stakes record time of 1.09.6kr at 14/1 odds over the 2100 meters autostart course contested by 18 starters for the 120,000€ purse. The Gr. II event was for International 4-11 year olds.
Pierre Yves Verva teamed the winner for trainer Sylvain Roger and breeder/owner Noel Lolic. This victory was her 16th in a career that has produced life earnings of 1,860,315€.
Flamme du Goutier (6g Ready Cash-Utopie fu Goutier) took second at 15/1 with Theo Duvaldestin up for Ecurie Saint Martin and trainer Thierry Duvaldestin. Ampais Mede SM (7f Ganymede-Pulimpia Slide Sm) was third for Franck Nivard at 12/1 odds. Fabrice Souloy trains this one for Scuderia Se Fin, she already an Amerique invitee.
The 34/1 Decoloration (10f Prince d’Espace-MaradADI Buissonay) landed fourth for Gabriele Gelormini, ahead of 14/1 Zarenne FAS (8m Varenne-Miss Muscle FAS) handled by Eric Raffin for trainer Jean Michel Bazire. 36/1 Vernissage Grif and 9/1 Fakir de Machy completed the top seven.
The pacesetter Etonnant faded to eighth and early pocket sitter Cokstile was ninth. Bleff Dipa ended 11th and North American bred Beads was 13th. The miscue dq horses were Horault d’Armes that lead in mid-stretch for JMB before a break, Gu d;Heripre and Hokkaido Jiel.
