A Rocknroll Dance’s stock has earned $36million

The Rocknroll Hanover horse A Rocknroll Dance (1:47.4), who is standing at Pete and Chantal McMullen’s Somerset Farms near Brisbane, has sired the harness racing winners of a hefty $36million worldwide to date.

The total includes a record $10.6million in the closing season, of which $4.3million was earned by his progeny in Australia. He sired 181 individual winners including 61 three-year-olds.

A Rocknroll Dance finished in eighth position on the Australian all aged list and fifth in respect of winners. He ranked sixth on the three-year-old stakemoney list with $1.1million and second only to Bettor’s Delight in respect of three-year-old winners.

In New Zealand, A Rocknroll Dance left the winners of $1.4million in 2022, placing him fourth on the all aged table, while in America, he has total progeny earnings of $20.5million from six racing crops including $4.8 million in the closing season. He has 11 in the 1:50 list.

A dual world champion and Meadowlands Pace winner, A Rocknroll Dance has sired the winners of $11.8million in Australia and $3.5million in NZ with his oldest stock as six-year-olds.

A Rocknroll Dance’s progeny were on fire over the holiday period in both hemispheres.

Some of the highlights were a quinella in the $25,000 Vicbred Silver for four-year-old mares at Bendigo with No Win No Worries and Lopez, Dancing Finn (SA Christmas Cup), Franco Norton (Gore Pacing Cup), five winners at Banks Peninsula, NZ including the Christmas Cup, Be My Rock 1:53.7 (Albion Park) and the ex-Victorian mare Lady Rocknrolla, who won in 1:52.2 at The Meadowlands, New Jersey.
