As reported by Jay Rooney for The West Australian, Ladbrokes has pulled off a big coup by securing WA harness racing superstar Magnificent Storm (American Ideal) for its slot in the inaugural $1 million The Nullarbor at Gloucester Park in April.
Rated WAās best current pacer, the Ray Williams-trained gelding is the early favourite for the historic slot race and Group 1s the Fremantle Cup and WA Pacing Cup on January 13 and 27.
Magnificent Storm is the second confirmed starter in The Nullarbor, joining Lavra Joe who will represent the RAM Racing Syndicate.
āWeāre absolutely ecstatic to team up with Ladbrokes for this exciting new race,ā Magnificent Stormās managing owner Rob Tomlinson said.
āThey approached us about it. They spoke very highly of our horse and we just think theyāre a great fit for us.
āItās very exciting to have a new race like this in our own backyard.
āWe just love the whole concept of The Nullarbor.ā
