Jubile Prior (4m Prince de Montfort-Dotation) captured the Gr. II Prix de Pardieu (monte, purse 120,000€, 2175 meters for four-year-olds) this day (Jan. 21) at Vincennes in France.
Aurelian Desmarres was the winning harness racing jockey for trainer Jean Michel Bazire and owner Sylvain Desmarres. Jobile Prior won for the fourth time in his career now for 287,590€ earned. Off at 1.2/1 odds the winner bested 25/1 J’Adore (4f Goetmals Wood) with Alexis Collette up and third finishing 17/1 Junon (4f Bold Eagle) with jockey Guillaume Martin at the lines.
Earlier on the card the 3/1 Hokkaido Jiel (6m Brilllantissime) took the Gr. III Prix de Brest (purse 90,000€, 2850 meters for European 6–11-year-olds) timed in 1.13.4kr. David Thomain teamed the J.L. Dersoir trainee for Ecurie Luck as he recorded a ninth career victory now for 431,880€ earned. Go On Boy and Falco d’Havaroche were next to the line.
Sunday at Paris-Vincennes features the Gr. I International Prix de Cornulier for monte trotteurs. The 700,000€ purse classic is raced over the 2700 meters distance and has an 18-horse field that includes 10 mares. Top among the mares is Granvillaise Bleue, Etoile de Bruyere and Flamme du Goutier while the male rivals include Zarenne Fas, Fado du Chene and Freeman de Houelle, the latter trained by Franck Leblanc.
