The A Rocknroll Dance gelding Our Money Rocks is proving one of the harness racing stars of the summer racing at Menangle.

The six-year-old made it three from three this season and boosted his stake earnings to $135,000 when he overcame a horror draw and a wide passage to beat a handy field on Saturday night (January 21).

Our Money Rocks rated 1:56.4 for the 2300 metres mobile trip highlighted by a flying 54.2 seconds last 800.

A Rocknroll Dance was also represented by two ‘new’ winners in Sonic Express (Cobram, 1:57) and Pink Parade (Albany) and repeat winners in Hey Goyougoodthing NZ (Cranbourne), Modern Jive (Kilmore), The Dancer (Dubbo) and Gotta Good Warhol (Albany).

In New Zealand, the A Rocknroll Dance mare Dancing Desire won her second race from as many starts this season when she scored a gritty win at Ashburton. Near last on settling down, the four-year-old looped the field in the middle stages and then held on gamely in a career-best 1:55.5 for 1700 metres.

DANCING DESIRE REPLAY

A Rocknroll Dance, who stands at Pete and Chantal McMullen’s Somerset Farms near Brisbane, left several fast winners in America including Dontlikeitleave (1:51.6), Rockn Philly (1:52.4) and Edge Of Eternity (1:54.2).
