Ex-Kiwi pacer Diego (Bettor’s Delight) has won the $450,000 Group One TABtouch WA Pacing Cup for the Hall Snr Jnr harness racing combination.
Driven by Gary Hall Jnr, Diego led from the outset and despite pressure from equal favourite Magnificent Storm in the middle stages of the race managed to kick clear in the straight and hold out a strong challenge from stablemate Jumpingjackmac near the finish.

The winner racked up career win number 21 and ran the 2936m mobile event in a mile rate of 1:59.3 with a closing 800m in a swift 55.6 seconds.
For trainer Gary Hall Sr it was his 13th WA Pacing Cup victory and it was a ninth win in the race for winning driver Gary Hall Jnr.
