38-1 shot upsets in 150,000€ Prix Paul Viel

The 38/1 odds outside Elton Wise (3m Maharajah-Sorority Wise) was up in the final stride between rivals to win the Gr. II Prix Paul Viel (purse 150,000€, 2700 meters, International three year olds males) in 1.14.2kr.

Alessandro Gocciadoro was the winning driver/trainer for owner Giuseppe Russo as their pupil won for the first time in FR and increased his life earnings to 93,980€.

The pack at the line included second finishing 18/1 Kanada (3m Earl Simon-Avila) with Theo Duvaldestin up for breeder/owner/trainer Thierry Duvaldestin. The 8.1/1 Kompostel (3m Face Time Bourbon-Cavalleria) was third with Gabriele Gelormini aboard for trainer Sebastian Guarato and Ecurie Castagiccia. The 1.5/1 favorite Koctel du Dain (3m Boccador de Simm) was fourth.

Earlier in the card Invader AM (5g Muscle Hill-Vladzia Mauzun) took the monte Prix des Andelys (purse 33,000€, 2700 meters for European five year olds) timed in 1.14.3kr. This L.C. Abrivard trainee was handled by jockey Alexandre Abrivard and is owned by Jean Pierre Barjon. He won for the first time in FR to advance his career earnings to 39,456€. 

Near the end of the program was the Coupe Europe des Amateurs (purse 15,000€, 2100 meters autostart) and Enerise Flash (9f Nahar de Beval) was an easy 1.14.9kr winner for driver Xavier Bovay and trainer Henk Grift.
