Ashburton trainers Brent and Tim White have a team of five heading south on Thursday (Feb. 2) for the Oamaru Harness Racing Club’s twilight meeting, and most present as good chances.

The White’s day kicks off in Race Three when last start winner Major Thinker (Art Major) who deadheated on debut with What A Minx (Art Major) gets to renew that rivalry.
“He was a bit dumb last week and with that race under his belt he’ll be a lot sharper this week,” Brent White said.
Kohli Trouble (Superfast Stuart) goes into bat for the Whites in Race Five and this looks like a winnable one for him.
“His form on paper looks worse than it really is. He was going to get a big chunk (stake) of it at Nelson and galloped. Sarah (O’Reilly) said he wasn’t trotting 100%. His work this week has been great. I think he’ll be a top three chance at least.”
Lone Wolf (Sweet Lou) wasn’t favoured by a hard run at his last start but prior to that he’d won twice. He gets a great draw at two.
“He got pushed off the track, so you can put a line through that run. His training’s been good. It’s an even field and I think he’ll be good each way value.”
In Race Seven Randel Huston P (Peak) is an in or out trotter which won two starts back, but White says he’ll have to be taken on trust.
“He’s a nice trotter with a big motor and when the penny does drop he could put two or three together. Sarah drove him on Monday and was happy with him. We’ll get him a free win (penalty free) and see what happens but he’s got to trot and that’s the risk you take.”
Majestic Rollon (Majestic Son) only has nine rivals in Race Nine. His form line is very solid and he looks to be a good chance with Mad Jack (Love You) being the main challenger.
“She’s a big chance in this race. She worked home late the other day for Jonny (Cox). She’s getting better and better. She’s only got a month to go because she’s in foal. We’re really happy with her and she’s our best bet.”
