Mark Horner new SC Track Director in Ontario

Standardbred Canada (SC) would like to announce that due to the recent resignation of Mr. Tony Elliott as the Track Director for the Ontario Region, the harness racing racetracks of Ontario have now appointed Mr. Mark Horner as the SC Ontario Region Track Director. The position was ratified by the tracks on Monday, January 30, 2023.

Mr. Mark Horner will serve as Track Director for the remainder of the 2023-2025 term, effective immediately.

Horner is from St. Marys, Ont. and has been involved in the harness racing industry for more than 30 years as an owner, trainer, and breeder. Currently, Mr. Horner is on the Western Fair Association Board of Governors and is the Chair of The WFA Raceway Corporation. He has previously served as a director and Chair of Standardbred Canada.

Standardbred Canada’s first board meeting takes place in Mississauga on Friday, February 3, 2023.
