Ashburton harness racing trainers Brent and Tim White will return to Oamaru with some fresh faces after racing a team at the course on Thursday.
The Whites ventured south earlier this week for the Oamaru Clubās meeting on the grit and on Sunday the team will race on the grass.
In Race Three the fillies and mareās mobile, the partnership has two runners. Kawatiri Creek (Bettorās Delight) is on debut. Sheās had limited experience.
āSheās come a long way in a short time only having one workout and one qualifying trial which she qualified in 3-04. I really like her and sheās come on leaps and bounds. I think sheās one to watch in the stable over the next two to three months,ā Brent said.
Misskcmack (Sweet Lou) has shown some ability in just eight starts, running two thirds. Sheās run on the grass before.
āSheās one of those horses you wouldnāt want to play cards with because sheās pretty clever. She can run when she wants to so sheās an each way chance.ā
Majestic Rollon (Majestic Son) was a length and a half away from winner Winning Bones (Monkey Bones) on Thursday and will start on Sunday. She has good form going into Race Six and although itās a step up in class sheās well placed in the handicaps, starting off the front line.
In Race Eight Randel Huston P (Peak) backs up from Thursday. He stepped away well to take the lead but was run down by Feel The Moment (Andover Hall) and was beaten by a nose. He faces a slightly tougher task on Sunday.
In the $15,000 Temuka Transport Waikouaiti Pacers Cup over 3,000 metres Got You Covered (Art Major) faces six rivals and starts off the back mark of 25 metres. Six of his ten wins have been on the grass.
āThings didnāt go his way over Christmas and he was stiff in the Methven Cup so weāve given him a bit of a freshener. Heās come back really good. I think heāll be hitting the line pretty good on Sunday.ā
Race Ten for junior drivers provides stable junior Sarah OāReilly with a strong winning opportunity with Aeronaut (Sweet Lou). He won his last start, he has grass track form and his formline this time in has been solid. Brent labelled the four year old gelding his best bet of the day.
āHe did a good job in Nelson. Heās one of Sarahās drives and he follows speed well. His workās been nice so expect a good run from him.ā
