Down Under Winners from North America – 14th February

Marjorca, a New Zealand-bred daughter of Art Major, was an effortless harness racing winner in 1:51 of the $27,500 Sweetheart Pace for mares at The Meadowlands on Saturday night (Feb 11).

She was one of four ‘down under’ bred winners on the most power-packed card of the season, the others being Tam Major, Caveman and Rockin Marty.

Talented Bettor’s Delight mare Newsy NZ led in all-Australasian trifecta in the $17,000 feature at Saratoga Raceway, New York on Monday (February 6). 

The mare led from the outset to beat Wah’s Fire Bug NZ and Fond Memories in 1:54.6. 

At Saratoga on Saturday (February 11), the He’s Watching gelding Optical Illusion NZ surged past his rivals in the home straight to win the $14,500 feature in 1:53.6. 

Slick Artist, a Western Australian bred daughter of Art Major, took full advantage of the passing lane to score a decisive win in 1:53 in the feature race at The Meadows on Wednesday (February 8). The win took her lifetime earnings to $US344,353. 

Meanwhile, the A Rocknroll Dance gelding A Fair Ol Dance NZ outfinished his rivals after enjoying a perfect trip to win the $21,200 Open Handicap in 1:52 at the Meadows on Friday (February 10). The seven-year-old lifted his lifetime bankroll to $US214,310.
