Muscle Dynasty (Muscle Hill) earned a lifetime mark enroute to a harness racing victory in the $25,000 Open Trot at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday night (Feb. 21).
Northern Express (Russell Foster) and Embrace The Grind left alertly, trotting to the quarter pole. Northern Express held a brief lead, passing the quarter in :27.2. Embrace The Grind sprinted out of the pocket and took the lead away from a stubborn Northern Express past the quarter.
Embrace The Grind led the field of trotters to the half in :55.2 (:28). Muscle Dynasty and driver Corey Callahan edged to the outside from fifth and marched first over past the half.
Embrace The Grind continued on the lead and braced for the strong brush by Muscle Dynasty, as the trotters raced as a team. They reached the three quarters in 1:24.1 (:28.4).
At the top of the stretch, Muscle Dynasty and Callahan drew clear of the field and won by one and a half lengths in 1:53.2. He paid $9.00 for the win.
MUSCLE DYNASTY REPLAY
The 8/5 betting favorite, Northern Express, saved ground along the pylons but was unable to gain ground on the leader and finished second. Embrace The Grind was third.
Muscle Dynasty is owned by Frank E. Chick of Harrington Delaware and trained by Shea Lare.
Corey Callahan drove four winners on the betting card.
Ross Wolfenden, who lost his father, down under former driving champion Peter Wolfenden earlier in the week, drove three winners. Jim King Jr. had a training triple.
Majorca N takes on Incaseyoudidntknow and Divine Deo in the $25,000 Mares Open Handicap Pace on Wednesday. Post Time at Bally’s Dover is 4:30 pm.
