It never hurts to have a little luck on your side or in your name as Lucky Artist A (Artistic Fella) posted her third win in her last four harness racing starts Friday (March 3) at Yonkers Raceway in the $36,000 Fillies & Mares Open Handicap Pace.
The 8th race saw Delitfulcatherin N (Matt Kakaley) go right to the early lead with race favorite Lucky Artist A and driver Braxten Boyd sitting the two-hole trip as they passed the first quarter over the good track in :27.1.
They raced single file past the half mile in :56.4 and then in the backstretch, Easy To Please (Jordan Stratton) came first-over and gave live cover to Trick Of The Light (Tyler Buter) as they pressed Delitfulcatherin N to the three-quarters in 1:25.
Around the final turn Easy To Please was nose to nose on the outside with Delitfulcatherin N and that left Lucky Artist A trapped on the rail.
As they started down the stretch, Delitfulcatherin N bore out just enough for Braxten Boyd to ease Lucky Artist A along the plyons and she scooted right by, going on to win by one and one-quarter lengths in 1:53.3. Delitful Catherin N was second with Easy To Please third.
