19 -1 upset winner in Prix de Pierrefitte

Galon de Vire (7g Laetenter Diem-Victoire de Vire) brushed to the front and then held off all challengers to win the Enghien featured Prix de Pierrefitte Sur Seine (purse 68,000€, 2150 meters autostart for European 7–11-year-olds) timed in 1.12.9kr on Friday (March 17) in France.

Off at 19/1 odds this Francois Lagadeuc teamed veteran is trained by A.F. Grimault for owner Sabine Mottier. He won for the sixth time to advance career earnings to 215,950€. The 5.2/1 Evite Peron (9f Saxo de Vandel) was second for trainer/driver Matthieu Abrivard and Espoir du Noyer (9g Coktail Jet) was third.

The Cagnes sur Mer winter meet concluded March 12 after 29 race dates that began December 17, 2022, a total of 226 races were conducted. The leading driver at the meet was Christophe Martens with 25 victories and Romuald Mourice led the trainers with 23 wins.

Gently de Muze led the horse earners with 104,500€ from two wins in three outings. Vivid Wise As won the Grand Criterium de Vitesse de la Cote d’Azur and earned 90,000€ with that victory, which also vaulted his to the point lead in that the third leg of the UET Elite 2023 Series. His 28 points leads Ampia Mede SM with 26 and Hooker Berry with 19.
